Privacy Policy

Quitly is an app that helps you quit smoking and vaping. This policy explains, in plain English, what happens to your information when you use it. We have tried to keep what we collect to the minimum.

Your quit data stays on your device

The details you enter, your quit date, what you are quitting, how much you smoked or vaped, your savings, your check-ins and your milestones, are saved on your own device. Quitly does not require an account and does not keep a copy of this on our servers.

The AI coach

The AI coach is optional and is off until you turn it on. Quitly asks before anything is sent, and if you decline nothing leaves your device. You can change your mind at any time under Preferences in your profile.

If you turn it on, what you type to Quinn is sent to OpenAI, in the United States, so it can write the reply. Alongside your message we send your number of days free, your reason for quitting and your usual trigger, but only if you chose to give them, because they let the reply be specific to you.

OpenAI keeps this for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and then deletes it, and does not use it to train its models. OpenAI is contractually required to protect this data to at least the same standard set out in this policy, and may only use it to provide the service to us. Please do not share information you would not want processed this way. Quinn is a support tool and is not a doctor, a therapist or an emergency service.

Your quit date, streak, savings, calendar notes, craving log and saved support contacts are never sent to OpenAI.

Payments

If you subscribe to Quitly Pro, your payment is handled by Stripe, in the United States and Ireland, or by Apple if you subscribe through the App Store. We never see or store your full card details. Stripe and Apple process your payment under their own privacy policies and are required to protect your information to at least the standard set out here.

Accounts, if you create one

Accounts are optional and Quitly works fully without one. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google to back up your progress, your email address and your quit data are stored by Supabase, in the European Union, which hosts our database under its own privacy policy and is required to protect it to at least the standard set out here. You can delete your account and everything stored with it from within the app at any time.

Quitly is intended for adults aged 18 and over who want to stop smoking or vaping.

In a crisis

Quitly is not a substitute for professional medical help. If you are in crisis or need urgent help, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line. In the UK you can call the Samaritans on 116 123.
